Your Beetle on a poster, the one with the stories
Every Beetle comes with a story. The first car. The vacation car that made it over the Alps. The car someone got married in. The one in the garage that is still half restored. A poster of a Beetle is easy to find. A poster of yours is what we make, from one photo.
17 Beetle owners have ordered one so far: 11 in the US and 6 in the Netherlands and Belgium. Here is what they drive, where they put it, and how to photograph a Bug.

§ 01
Real Beetles from real orders
Each poster is a paid customer order. Most of our Beetle posters show a readable plate, because owners like their plates, so we only show the ones without.

§ 02
Which Beetles owners order
Most are classic air-cooled Bugs: sedans and convertibles from the 1960s and 1970s, stock and lowered, one with a trailer painted to match, one wearing flames. We have also done a Baja Bug on a muddy forest track, and the modern shapes, a New Beetle and a 2012 to 2019 Beetle.
Beetles also come in pairs. One poster put a Beetle convertible next to a Karmann Ghia on an Italian country road.
§ 03
Where owners put their Beetle
The Pacific Coast Highway is the Beetle's favorite scene, and Big Sur and coastal California come up again when owners write their own. Others asked for the harbor at Portofino, a drive through Walt Disney World, the Wisconsin countryside and a muddy sand track through the woods. Our ready-made Mille Miglia and Côte d'Azur scenes have both been used for Beetles too.
§ 04
How to photograph a Beetle for a poster
Shoot the front three-quarter from headlight height. The Beetle's whole character is in that curve from the hood over the roof, and a photo from standing height flattens it.
The details that date a Bug are small, so get close enough that they are sharp: bumpers (blade or tube), the size of the rear window and taillights, the hood handle, the hubcaps or wheels. If your rear window or taillights matter to you, add a photo from the back or name the year in the notes.
Tell us the top (closed or folded on a convertible), the roof rack, and anything the photo hides. Want the plate on the poster? Say so. Want it blank? Say that too.
