Gifts for Porsche lovers who notice every detail
Porsche people know the difference between a 964 and a 993 at fifty yards, and they will tell you which one has the better gearbox. That is what makes them hard to buy for. A generic Porsche print gets the wrong generation, the wrong wheels or a color their car never came in, and they will see it.
So the best gifts here are the ones that are about their own car, or about driving it. The first is ours: a poster of the exact Porsche they own, from a photo you take. We have made more than a hundred Porsche posters for customers, most of them 911s.

A Porsche driving experience
varies
Porsche runs Experience Centers in the US with track and handling courses. A day on a proper circuit with an instructor beats any object.
- 03varies
A Porsche Club of America membership
varies
Regional tours, tech sessions and driver education days. Many owners mean to join and never get around to it.
- 04varies
A road trip to a great driving road
varies
Book a weekend near a road worth the car: the Tail of the Dragon, Angeles Crest or the Pacific Coast Highway through Big Sur.
- 05varies
Driving gloves or driving shoes
varies
Thin soles and good feel on the pedals. Ask a partner or check the size in their closet before you buy.
- 06varies
A scale model of their model
varies
Good resin and diecast models exist for most generations. Match the exact model and, if you can, the color.
- 07varies
A fitted indoor car cover
varies
For the car that lives in the garage between weekends. Must be cut for the right body.
- 08varies
Detailing supplies
varies
A pH-neutral wash, soft wash mitt, quality microfiber and a leather conditioner for the seats.
- 09varies
A book on their generation
varies
There are serious histories of the 356, the air-cooled 911s and the transaxle cars. Pick the one about their car, not Porsche in general.
§ 02
Real Porsches from our customers
These posters were made from customers' own photos. Different generations, different roads, and in one case a brochure style instead of a travel poster. No plates and no people, so they stay anonymous.

§ 03
Getting the generation right
A front three-quarter photo at headlight height is the best angle for most Porsches: it shows the headlight shape, the bumper and one wheel, which together give away the generation. For a Targa, a side view shows the bar. For a car with a rear wing or a ducktail, a rear three-quarter shows what matters.
Write down the model and year when you upload, and anything special: Sport Classic wheels, a Paint to Sample color, a deleted rear wing. A badge that is three pixels wide in a phone photo is easy to get wrong and easy to fix if we know. Our photo guide has more on this.
§ 04
Prices and timing
A 12 × 16 in fine-art print is $59 and the popular 16 × 20 in is $74. Framed prints run $119–$289; canvas $99–$249. US shipping is free and the digital file is included. Many Porsche owners have owned more than one, so it helps that every extra print in the same order is 20% off. Delivery takes 4–7 business days after you approve the proof.
Vellum is an independent studio and is not affiliated with Porsche. We make posters of cars our customers own.
